IT BEGAN
BY MAKING SOAP.
Red Brick Soap Company didn’t begin with a business plan, a skincare manifesto or a laboratory full of chemists. It began by making soap.
Then making another batch.
Then discovering there are an unreasonable number of ways to make a rectangular object that gets wet.
What started as experimenting gradually became an idea for a small company. One built around a straightforward ambition: make a good bar of soap that people actually want to use.
“There are an unreasonable number of ways to make a rectangular object that gets wet.”
THERE’S A LOT IN A LITTLE BAR.
Formulation. Fragrance. Colour. Moulds. How a bar feels in the hand, how it wears down, and whether you’re still pleased with it a week later.
Then there’s packaging, storage and figuring out how to make the next batch consistently. Each experiment teaches us something — including what doesn’t deserve to become a product.
We’re learning through early melt-and-pour experiments, with traditional cold-process soaps part of the longer-term plan. The first bars are already being made. The range is still finding its feet.
